What else can be said?

It is a fact when comedians or comediennes are talked of prior to people attending a   performance and actually seeing a performer live, the assumption is often made that they will use bad language, dress scruffy, won’t be funny and can’t possibly have a great   singing voice.
Nothing can be further from the truth when these assumptions are directed at A Jay.
She has fifteen cruises under her belt as guest comedienne, several performances in the Middle East, numerous family shows at large holiday centres around England not to mention hundreds of cabaret appearances at theatres, dinners, golf clubs and military venues.  Almost always rebooked indicates the popularity and suitability of her performances.

She feels no need to use gutter language and verbal abuse directed at her audiences as some contemporary comediennes lean towards these days for laughs.Her delivery of slick humour, coupled with a big delivery of songs from her very powerful voice is always a winner.

Ok, if you still insist on pigeon holing her, a true likeness is somewhere between Marti Caine and Jane McDonald, so she is often told by her audiences after watching her show.
Better still catch her show yourself and make up your own mind!!!!

Live entrtainment in Scunthorpe is still proving really popular in the Social Clubs and Pubs.
On Saturday 11th February 70′s and 80′s singer Mark Curtis certainly did not dissapoint his audience when he performed at the RAOB Club in Ashby. So much so this is what one person who was there had to say…

"Big" Jan Molby

Lincoln Railway Moorlands Club are holding another sportsman’s dinner of on Friday 9th March 2012, 7.30pm at The Social Club Newark Road,  Lincoln.

The guest after dinner speaker for the evening will be former Liverpool and Danish International footballer Jan Molby, he will be supported by comedian Jimmy Carrol from Sheffield

At the club’s last dinner in October a sellout audience were entertained by after dinner speaker Dean Saunders and Liverpool comedian Gary Skyner.

Hailed by his former Liverpool manager and team-mate Kenny Dalglish as “one of the finest midfield players of his generation” the great Dane was a contemporary in the celebrated Ajax youth academy, with Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard and Jesper Olsen. He also came under the influence of Dutch master Johann Cruyff.  Molby was signed by Liverpool boss Joe Fagan for £225,000 in August 1984, following the departure of Graeme Souness. He was also an expert penalty taker, scoring 42 spot kicks, and in November 1986 earned a niche in the record books with a penalty hat trick against Coventry in the League Cup. Molby made 52 appearances in Liverpool’s League and FA Cup double season of 1985/86 before playing for Denmark in the World Cup Finals in Mexico. He won a second title medal in 1990 and another F A Cup medal in 1992. He became the first foreigner to serve 10 years with one English club before becoming Swansea player boss in 1996.

Bill Beaumont OBE, CBE

On Thursday 2nd February  Bill Beaumont was the principal guest and after dinner speaker  at the fourth black tie dinner of the current season hosted by Lincoln Sportsman’s Club.
As ever it turned out to be another most enjoyable evening. Bill gave an hilarious account of all his years as a “finely tuned” athlete who reached the pinnacle of his sport playing for England 34 times, 21 of which were as captain including that memorable England grand slam in 1980.
He also reminded us all that he was England captain at Twickers on the day in 1982 that the topless Erica Roe became a national treasure! With his back to her entrance he couldn’t understand why his team mates were “barely” concentrating on his half time pep talk!
Bill also toured with the British Lions and it was a South African tour that accounted for a number of amusing anecdotes. He also spoke fondly of his 6 years as a Question of Sport captain and his admiration for Emlyn Hughes.

The excellent evening with 5 course dinner at the Bentley Hotel was concluded by Sheffield comic Jimmy Carol.

Since 1979 the club has raised and donated over £100,000 to such talent and during the club year 2010/11 nearly £5,000 alone was donated to a total of 17 youngsters from athletics, trampolining, swimming, gymnastics, rowing, badminton, volleyball, judo and snooker.

Bill Beaumont has a huge compilation of amusing and amazing anecdotes which make him an excellent   after dinner speaker.

John Parrott OBE

Lincoln Sportsman’s Club are holding their fifth black tie dinner of the current season on Thursday 22^nd March 2012, 7.30pm at The Bentley Hotel, Newark Road, South Hykeham, Lincoln.

The guest speakers for the evening will be former world professional snooker champion and Question of Sport Captain John Parrott who will be supported by comedian John Stiles, son of Nobby!

At the club’s last dinner on 2^nd February promising 16 years old Fiskerton badminton player Tom Woodcock was presented with a cheque for £400 by England rugby union great Bill Beaumont

One of the legends of the green baize John Parrott is a former UK, European and World snooker champion and an interesting, amusing after dinner speaker.

Due to his engaging personality and humorous nature he was invited to be a captain on the hugely successful BBC show A Question of Sport for 6 years with regular sidekick Ally McCoist.

For the past decade John has been one of the main faces for the BBC snooker team both as a pundit and presenter and currently works on the Derby, Royal Ascot and Grand National for the BBC racing team.

He has an in depth knowledge of sport and follows not only horse racing and snooker but his beloved Everton football club.  And for the past few years he’s been working hard on his golf handicap which currently stands at 2.

John still performs snooker exhibitions and, with his charismatic personality, he is an engaging and humorous after dinner speaker and also an excellent awards host.

John is also available for a variety of personal appearances.
Whether it’s a golf day where he will play and speak after dinner or a corporate trip to the races where he will organise a fun day for all, you’re sure to be met by a personable and professional individual.

Steve Kindon who is one of the best after dinner speakers on the circuit helped raise just over £1100 for the Barnsley Hospice when he appeared  at Silkstone Golf Club – Barnsley on Thursday 26th January 2012.

Thank you for booking Steve for me he was tremendous.  Steve finished his last spot at midnight, because I was running late, but everybody had a wonderful evening.  With the sponsorship in the programme and money raised on the night the total for the event raised £1151 for Barnsley Hospice.

I will recommend him to anybody who is thinking about a similar event in the future.

Steve Kindon is a great raconteur whose contribution to any dinner is guaranteed to have the audience rolling with laughter.

After starring in Burnley’s FA Youth Cup run of 1967-68, Steve Kindon became the first member of the Clarets victorious Youth Cup side to establish himself in the First Division. He scored on his Turf Moor debut in a 3-1 victory over West Ham Utd, and after winning Youth international honours, he was ever-present in Burnley’s First Division side of 1969-70, top-scoring with 17 goals. After the Lancashire club were relegated in 1971, Kindon was unable to sustain the form that his speed and talent warranted. He joined Wolves for a fee of £100,000 in the summer of 1972 and scored on his debut in a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle Utd on the opening day of the 1972-73 season. However, it took him a while to settle down in the Midlands and he only appeared briefly in the club’s successful League Cup run in 1973-74, missing out on the final ed straight back as Second Division Champions the following season with Kindon playing his part. He had scored 31 goals in 167 games for Wolves when he returned to Burnley in November 1977 for £80,000.
He spent two more seasons at Turf Moor taking his goal tally to 58 in 225 games before joining Huddersfield Town where a knee injury ended his career.

Steve is an ideal speaker for Golf Clubs, Sportsmans Dinners, Rotary Clubs, Charity functions and the like.

Kennie J - Elvis

36 Elvis Impersonators entered the heats and the 6 heat winners went through to the final which was held at the Jail House Rock Bar in Lincoln on Sunday 11th December. With a first prize of an all expenses trip to Memphis, finalist were definately taking this one seriously.
After a very long evening and some stiff competition Kennie J was crowned champion.
Kennie will be heading a star studded Elvis night at the Theatre Royal in Lincoln on Sunday 22nd January 2012 and tickets are available through the box office.

“King Kennie”…this fantastic tribute to Elvis the King of Rock n Roll is a show worthy of any stage in Las Vegas.
Kennie is a talented and accomplished singer in his own right. Nevertheless, his uncanny similarity in voice to that of Elvis, enables him to deliver a fantastic tribute show which encompasses all of the great classic Elvis tracks from the early 1950′s to Elvis’s final songs.

Kennie brings to his audience the ultimate Elvis Experience.
He has the Elvis look, the sound, the moves and the sincerity and passion that only a true Elvis tribute artist can capture.

This show has been performed  in Theatres, Holiday Parks, Social Clubs and Pubs all across the UK.
