Alan Mcinally

Alan Mcinally

Football After Dinner Speaker | Guest Speaker | Football Commentator

Former Scottish footballer and pundit on Sky’s Soccer Saturday results show Alan McInally played across England, Scotland and Germany.

Having represented Ayr United, Celtic, Aston Villa, Bayern Munich and Kilmarnock, McInally enjoyed a successful career having won European Cup honours with Celtic in 1985. The Scottish International represented his nation at the 1990 World Cup however due to extensive competition for places, Alan’s International career was curtailed after 8 caps and 3 goals.

Alan McInally went from part-timer at Ayr United, training on a red ash pitch and serving an apprenticeship as an aircraft engineer, to part of the Bayern Munich machine, where he was coached by Gerd Muller, the prolific West Germany striker nicknamed ‘Der Bomber’, and rarely had a day off under the relentless regime of manager Jupp Heynckes.

Quite a journey for the 55-year-old, now part of the mix of maverick former pros that make Sky’s Soccer Saturday results show, masterfully hosted by Jeff Stelling, such a success. As the banter flows between McInally, Paul Merson, Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson, Matt le Tissier and the rest, it shouldn’t obscure they were all talented players in their time.

Alan is an outstanding footballer speaker, making a number of appearances at events delivering motivational advice, presenting awards as well as performing as an after-dinner speaker.
